Slovak budget deficit this year will reach 7.8 percent of GDP

BRATISLAVA (MEDIAFAX) - Slovak budget deficit this year will reach the level of 7.8 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), originally planned 5.5 percent of GDP ceiling to be exceeded. Informed about it on Thursday, Reuters, referring to information Slovak Ministry of Finance.

The poorest country in the euro area this year came from the economic crisis as one of the fastest growing economies across the European Union, but growth was ensured mainly by exports and foreign production companies in the country, resulting in a very small budget revenues.

The center-right government of Prime Minister Iveta controllers, which in July replaced the leftist government of Robert Fico, has promised to reduce its budget deficit below three percent of GDP by the end of 2013.
