Mediafax

Pilsen (MEDIAFAX) - Energy and Industrial Holding (EPH), Czech Coal and MVV Energie are interested in buying Pilsen plant. The sale decide elections, reports in Monday's edition E15.

In the fall municipal election is not about just distribution of power in town halls, but also the fate of billions of assets. Pilseners so decide, among other things, how the city do with its economic treasure Plzeň Power. Its assets are estimated at four billion crowns last year and only had a net profit of 824 million crowns. The current city government headed by the ODS is looking for a strategic partner power plant since 2008. The purchase or seek long-term lease three groups.Energy and Industrial Holding (a joint venture of PPF and J & T and Daniel Křetínského), Czech Coal and MVV Energie.

According to E15, from two independent sources of current management prefers heat and sale of entire stake in Energy power plant and industrial holding company. J & T have also owns the second largest producer of Pilsen heat energy, and the acquisition would significantly increase the price of the whole complex.

"Representatives of the PDC met with the Director General Drápela with part of the city and said to leadership, whether and how to enter the heating plant," said a source E15, which moves in the energy market. Pilsen is a power plant while under pressure. Has entered into long-term contract for the supply of brown coal, and must enter into short-term contracts that coal more expensive. Heating Plant also sells a profitable system services to stabilize the transmission system.

"In order to sell their fine to continue, it should have concluded long-term contract for the supply of brown coal. Otherwise it may happen that no one will fail to deliver coal and the city will pay huge amounts for penalties, which destroys heating plant, "said outgoing E15 Mayor Pavel Rödl, which stands for Association Občané.cz. This is again a chance for Czech Coal Group, which according to unofficial information, the heating plant offered a three-year contract. Even this solution according to Rödl but carries the risk that the coal more expensive.

The opposition can certainly fear that if successful the current city government headed by the ODS in the elections, losing control of the plant, town hall and above the cost of heat. Against the sale of the enterprise to build a Top 09 and CSSD.

"TOP 09 is strongly opposed to quick and subject only to the privatization of utility financial return. For Pilseners power plant is important as a source of heat. And if her own city, they can guarantee a reasonable price, "says Vice TOP 09 in the Region Tomas ryegrass. Political leadership also resulted in his separate talks with only one bidder.

"We understand the need to ensure that sources of power plant fuel. The form of direct sales to a single candidate on the grounds that they fail to provide long-term contracts for coal, but it is not proper or acceptable way, "he added. He said the city should in the next year to launch the competition, and either to enforce long-term lease or partial privatization.

With the agreement of the social democrats. "We were never for a full sale, at least a majority in the city should have a power plant," said Eva Herinková, who heads the municipal ballot.

Civic Democrat leader Martin Baxa but stresses that the power plant to be decided after the election. "According to my information, the Council of Pilsen had independent CHP process by an expert. I suppose that will be processed in several versions and will be submitted to the new city council, which emerges from the elections. Now I do not therefore anticipate any possible decision when analytical results are not yet on the table, "he wrote Baxa E15.
