Office: Households in the next year to pay for electricity by 4.6 percent more

Mediafax

PRAGUE (MEDIAFAX) - Electricity for households will raise the price next year by 4.6 percent and wholesale customers will pay as much as 5.2 percent more. This stems from the price decision of the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO), which released on Tuesday.

To the above will increase but only if by the end of the year will take an amendment to the law on the taxation of photovoltaic energy. The amendment of the Act on promotion of electricity from renewable sources and is now approved members of the senators decide.

In the explanatory memorandum ERO price decision states that, unless approved by The amendment of the Act , may increase annual electricity prices for households on average in the Czech Republic as much as 11.2 percent for industrial users, then an average of 14.5 percent.

"The main reason for this increase is an increase in components of the price transmission and distribution of electricity used to cover the cost of electricity from renewable sources, secondary sources and cogeneration of this year's 166 CZK/ MWh to 578 CZK / MWh for 2011, "says the ERO.

From the perspective of the ERO is important that the situation partly compensates for the so-called decline in prices of energy on the wholesale market (unregulated by the Authority). Another important factor ERO considers that the domestic market is due to increasing competition and lowering prices to approximate the prices of individual suppliers.

ERO is required under current legislation to issue pricing decisions of regulated prices for electricity transmission, electricity distribution and related services, including component prices, which covers the cost to support the production of electricity from renewable sources, secondary sources and combined heat and power, for the following yearlater than one month before they come into effect, it means the end of November. Therefore, the price Tuesday's decision did not include the impact of this amendment.
