How does the average bear?



Most global stock indices came in recent weeks, according to the technical definition of a bear market, which is defined by the 20% decline from previous highs. How long such an average bear market last? An interesting form of this graph illustrates the workshop analysts Leuthold Group. The average bear market from 1899 to 2009 meant for investors 37% loss. Between 1945 to 2009 it was a drop of 30%.
