Prague hoteliers are doing this year, the rest of Czech demand for accommodation falls


PRAGUE (MEDIAFAX) - hoteliers in Prague during the first half of this year so far succeeded, but in other regions the demand for accommodation rather stagnant. On Tuesday about through the results of its survey, KPMG informed the Czech Republic.

"The outlook for profits hoteliers in the summer peak tourist season is slightly optimistic. In the longer term is still slowly rising average revenue per room," said Ondrej Spacek, of KPMG Czech Republic. In the second quarter, the average revenue per room, per 798 crowns, which he says means that the hotels managed services increase efficiency and optimize costs.

The KPMG survey also showed that the average occupancy rate of hotel rooms in the second quarter this year increased. In comparison with previous years is the maximum occupancy 64procentní.

Top-performing hotels in the city center (80 percent) and around (78 percent). For hotels outside Prague demand for accommodation rather flat, except the only Franzensbad with 71procentní occupancy. After last year's decline slightly, the average achieved room rate in hotels in 1202 crowns, which is 15 CZK more than last year.

The most popular destination was from April to June this year in Prague, both for domestic and foreign tourists. It also resulted in increased occupancy in which Prague sovereign reigned all regions. Contrast, less successful hotels in Brno (42 percent occupancy) and Karlovy Vary (53 percent).

The average length of stay, according to KPMG survey, compared to years 2011 and 2010 largely unchanged.In the second quarter of this year's visitors in hotels spent an average of 2.55, which is approximately the same as last year and a slight decrease from 2010. At that stays just under the level of three days (2.88 days). This year tourists persisted longest in the Karlovy Vary region, which attracts mainly for recreation to the spa here spent an average of 5.65 days.
