Pardubice airport completed its modernization


PARDUBICE (MEDIAFAX) - The annual project to modernize the civil airport of Pardubice finished. All work carried out by the supplying company, as scheduled, additional works were required and the budget is not exceeded by a single euro, Reuters said Jiri Skalicky, chairman of East Bohemian Airport (EBA).

The project called Technical background of the civil airport of Pardubice and extension movement areas funded by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund was to extend and improve the technical and maintenance services, including building a new airport complex aviation fuel. Construction began in May 2011 and ended on schedule this year 31st July.

"We did everything within the planned timescale. The construction did not require extra work and thus no additional funding. I think it is especially important message for critics of the project," said Jiri Skalicky.

Total project costs amounted to 256 million crowns. "Modern aircraft maintenance facilities and maintenance of the airport is crucial for us due to an increase in air traffic safety and prestige airport with international status," said John Andrlík, director of EBA that civilian part of the Pardubice airport operates.

The building is now in trial operation and fully should begin to fulfill its purpose on the 25th September. On this day is also scheduled unveiling of construction and commencement of operations.
