CR - fall in industrial production and new orders continued in June


Industrial production in June fell by 2.2% in real terms. Compared with the previous month, following the exclusion of seasonally lower by 0.3%. The value of new orders fell by 2.9%.

Industrial production in June 2012 year on year in real terms fell by 2.2%, adjusted for working days grew by 0.3%. June 2012 was compared to the same month the previous year on a working day or less. After seasonal adjustment (including the number of working days) industrial production decreased by 0.3%. The annual decline in industrial production was most contributed to by manufacture of fabricated metal products (contribution -0.5 pp, drop by 6.3%), manufacture of computer, electronic and optical equipment (contribution -0.4 pp, A decrease of 12.8%) and manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical products (contribution -0.4 pp, drop by 28.3%). Industrial production increased most significantly in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (contribution 0.8 pp, growth by 4.2%), manufacture of electrical equipment (by 0.2 pp, growth by 3.3%) and other transport equipment (by 0.2 pp, growth by 11.6%).

Sales from industrial activity at current prices grew by 1.5%. Direct export sales of industrial enterprises at current prices increased by 3.9%. Domestic sales, which include indirect exports through non-industrial enterprises, in current prices decreased by 0.9%.

The value of new ordersin selected sectors fell by 2.9%. New orders from abroad, while increased by 1.4%, while domestic new orders decreased by 10.5%. The annual decline in new orders contributed most to the total Manufacture of other transport equipment (contribution -1.1 pp, drop by 45.4%), manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metals (contribution -1.1 pp, drop by 12.1%) and basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical products (contribution -0.9 pp, drop by 46.4%). New orders rose in the manufacture of electrical equipment (by +1.0 percentage points, an increase of 11.4%), manufacture of chemicals a and chemical products (contribution 0.3 pp, growth by 5.2%) and textiles ( contribution of 0.2 pp, growth by 12.3%).

Average number of employees*) in enterprises with 50 or more employees in industry in June 2012 year decreased by 0.3%. Average monthly nominal wage in June 2012 rose by 1.9% and reached CZK 26 012.

Industry in the 2nd quarter of 2012

Industrial production in the 2nd quarter of 2012 decreased by 0.9% adjusted for working days grew by 0.8%. In 2 quarter of 2012 was compared to the same quarter the previous year by 2 working days or less.

Sales from industrial activity at current prices in the 2nd quarter of 2012 grew by 0.9 %. Direct export sales of industrial enterprises at current prices increased by 2.5%. Domestic sales, which include indirect exports through non-industrial enterprises, in current prices decreased by 0.7%.

New orders in selected sectors in the second quarter of 2012 rose by 0.5 %. New orders from abroad, while increased by 6.0%, while domestic new orders decreased by 9.2%.

Average number of employees *) in enterprises with 50 or more employees in industry in the 2nd quarter of 2012 decreased by 0.1%. Average monthly nominal wage in the 2nd quarter of 2012 rose by 3.4% and reached CZK 26 688.
