CSO: Hoteliers have completed a successful summer season


PRAGUE (MEDIAFAX) - A successful season recorded in the third quarter of Czech hoteliers in collective accommodation establishments increased compared to last year, the number of overnight stays by 7.8 percent to 15.3 million. Overall, in this period came to 10 percent more visitors than last year, reported on Wednesday, the Czech Statistical Office.

YoY growth was almost all categories of collective accommodation establishments. Overnight stays in all types of hotels with an average increase of 6.9 percent, 5.2 percent for pensions and camping as much as 17.1 percent.

In the regional breakdown showed the highest growth accommodation in the Ústí region by 21.8 percent, followed by the Karlovy Vary Region and Moravian. Only two regions, namely in Olomouc and South, compared to last year, the number of overnight stays decreased.

In collective accommodation establishments in the period came to a total of 4.9 million guests. Hotels saw increased interest rating by 8.6 percent, 10.3 percent guesthouses and campsites up by 18.5 percent. Just this summer season has been for the campsite very successful. Came to them about 115,000 more visitors than last year.

Regionally visitors increased in all regions of the Czech Republic. Most of it was in the Ústí nad Labem (19.1 percent), and South Region. The smallest annual increase reported South County (1.2 percent).

The largest group of foreign guests were traditionally citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany. The monitored facilities with a total of 440,000 housed here and spent nearly 1.4 million nights. The second largest group were guests from Russia (184,000). The third place Poles.More than one hundred thousand visitors came also from the United States of America, Slovakia and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Spa facilities visited in the period a total of 224,000 guests, mainly due to the great interest of foreign guests. Arrived in the Czech and Moravian spas, 28.4 percent more than last year. Most residents went to the Karlovy Vary Region. Foreign guests annually has also extended its spa stays (average of two days), home visitors but this is about 2.4 days shorten.

Rooms in hotels and guest houses have been utilized from 49.9 percent. Highest use of all hotel categories achieved five-star hotels. Decliners three-star hotels and guesthouses.

Czech Statistical Office provides data acquisition and processing for statistical purposes and provides statistical information to government, local government, public and abroad. It also sets the methodology of surveys and processing.
