The government has approved a modified form of the concept of forest policy

PRAGUE (MEDIAFAX) - Cabinet Petr Necas (ODS) on Wednesday approved the revised document Principles of national forest policy, said Deputy Prime Minister Karolina Peake (PEOPLE). The material provides long-term objectives of the national forestry policy and for example allows for the creation of a new forestry law and the new law on national parks.

Forest conservation and forest land for future generations, increasing the competitiveness of forestry and biodiversity in forest ecosystems, reinforcing the importance of forests and forestry for rural economic development and reinforcing the importance of education, research and innovation in forest management, long-term objectives of the national forestry policy.

Achieving these goals should change legislation. The document provides for the creation of a new forestry law, the new law on national parks or the amendment to the law on hunting.

Material Nečasův cabinet discussed and sent for processing at the end of October. "We agreed on the fact that we will prepare an amendment that would more specified and solved access forests, but also military forests and approach the Ministry of Defense," said Agriculture Minister Petr Bendl (ODS).

Of the document itself, however, disappeared from the October version only point, which allowed transfer of the wood industry in the Ministry of Agriculture. He probably will remain so under the Ministry of Industry and Trade Minister Martin leads Cuba (ODS).

The concept should also unify the rules of protection of forest and agricultural land or differentiate the rights and responsibilities of forest owners by category and type of ownership of forests so that the work of public interests was required mainly from forests owned by the state.

The document also suggests the setting basic rules of management, and a minimum age of harvested crop, location and maximum surface mining, the obligation to restore forest conditions and forest services, with the state forests should be managed and managed model in a way that will serve as an example to others forest owners.

The state should also in the future to reduce the number of legal restrictions on owners of forests to the level usual in European countries with a similar composition of wood production. This, according to the document to increase the competitiveness of forestry. This area also allows for the fact that the state allow the sale of forest land, especially in the form of arondace and facilitate their implementation in cases where arondace concern forests owned by the state.Easier would also be implementing shifts in state-owned forests as forests owned by other people, especially those in which the economy is in the public interest is limited.

Strengthened should also be standing forest owners in relation to owners of buildings in the woods or in its vicinity (holiday houses, roads, railways, etc.) so that the protection of these properties was fundamentally responsibilities of their owners and forest owners to be compensated for the limitations forest management resulting from the existence of buildings.

The document stresses the promotion of natural farming to forest vegetation approached natural composition of the forest and it had a natural habitat types.Encourage the State also had a retention in the forest "fair share" of rotting wood, logging residues, trees expired of natural aging and reclamation and stabilization of trees and promote the environment-friendly farming in the forest in the past, including traditional farming methods.
