At Cologne crashed plane L-159, the pilot did not survive crash


COLOGNE (MEDIAFAX) - The Cologne crashed on Thursday evening in a single-seat L-159 fighter, the pilot did not survive the accident. Mediafax agency confirmed that John Růžičková, a spokesman for the General Staff of the Army of the Czech Republic.

"Unfortunately I can confirm that the pilot was found dead in the ruins of the aircraft," said Růžičková.

17.24 machine crashed in northwest of Cologne. The aircraft, which was returning from a training flight to the base Base in fell into an uninhabited area.

L-159 ALCA is a single-seat, single engine light multi-role tactical fighter subsonic aircraft. It is equipped for combat operations against ground and air targets and is able to carry out their combat tasks during the day, at night and in adverse weather conditions.

Principally aircraft's direct air support. It is also able to conduct air reconnaissance and tactical air combat for a short distance. The machine can carry up to 2340 kg of weapons in outer hinges seven - three under each wing and one under the fuselage.
