Czech Republic - Retail sales fell in October by 1.5% m / m


Sales in the automotive segment, adjusted for seasonal factors fell in October at constant prices by 1.5% yoy adjusted for the number of working days decreased by 3.0%. Not seasonally adjusted sales grew by 2.2%, partly due to the three days a higher number of working days this year than last year.

Seasonally adjusted sales in retail trade including sale and repair of motor vehicles in October at constant prices decreased by 1.5% yoy adjusted for working days by 3.0%. Seasonally adjusted sales grew by 2.2%, which was due primarily on three days a higher number of working days in October 2012 compared to the same month of the 2011th The increase in sales was recorded as sales in the automotive segment and in the retail trade (see Table 2).

Seasonally adjusted sales insale and repair of motor vehicles (CZ-NACE 45) at constant prices decreased by 2.9% yoy adjusted for working days was 6.1%. seasonally adjusted sales grew by 2.6%, of which 4.9 patch % and sale of motor vehicles (including spare parts) by 2.2%.

In retail sales including automotive fuel (CZ-NACE 47), seasonally adjusted sales at constant prices fell by 0.9% yoy adjusted for working days by 1.5%. Seasonally adjusted sales increased by 2.0% yoy, in which non-food goods increased by 5.2%, while for the food and fuel fell (by 1.8%, respectively. 0.1%).

Year-fastest growing sales over the internet or via mail order houses (19.5%). The range of non-food sales grew in all major groups except household goods (down 0.3%). Revenues Computer and communications equipment increased by 12.1%, for products for culture, sport and recreation by 8.1%, for clothing and footwear by 6.6% and in pharmaceutical, medical and cosmetic goods by 6.5%. I continued to lower sales of food and non-specialized stores with food (+1.9%, respectively. 0.1%).

Price deflator (CZ-NACE 47) to the corresponding period of the previous year (excluding VAT) amounted to 100.9% and was influenced mainly by higher prices of fuel and food. On the contrary, prices continued to drop in stores of information and communication equipment.
