Senate urged Klaus to ratify the creation of the European Stability Mechanism

PRAGUE (MEDIAFAX) - President Vaclav Klaus should face the Senators to ratify the Lisbon Treaty change, enabling the creation of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). Members of the upper parliamentary chamber to him on Thursday called on the fact that should do so promptly.

Both chambers of the Parliament had consented to the ratification of the European Council in the spring of this year. The president has yet to ratify an international treaty obligation without undue delay after both chambers consent to ratification, which previously confirmed by the Constitutional Court. Vaclav Klaus, however, has not yet done so.

"The Constitutional Court, which concerned the issue of Lisbon II, it is obvious that the president should not procrastinate and it is his duty, if the two houses of Parliament shall act to sign such a decision," said the chairman of the Senate Milan Stech (CSSD).

The emergence of ESM will allow eurozone members intergovernmental agreement agreed procedure for financial assistance to States in trouble. It still did not allow the Lisbon Treaty.
