The government is interested in Unipetrol Refinery

Minister of Industry, Martin Kuba, said the government is preparing a plan to acquire a stake in the Czech Refining Company, 51% owned by Unipetrol, to increase national energy security. He added that the government's objective would be to acquire a majority stake in the company that would integrate everything from the supply of crude oil to petroleum products. The government should decide by the end of this first quarter (Reuters).

The report fits well with the depreciation of refining assets in the amount of CZK 4.4 billion, which Unipetrol posted because of their possible sale.Although we do not know the details, the government is probably the only real investor in these refineries as refineries Unipetrol are relatively old and in Europe, more such assets. Sale of State for Unipetrol would probably be positive.
