IATA: Demand for passenger transport in r.2012 grew by 5.3%

According to statistics from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the global demand for passenger traffic last year grew by 5.3% compared to growth of 5.9% in 2011. The demand for freight transportation declined last year by 1.5%.

For this year, IATA expects passenger traffic to grow at about 4.5%, freight transport should also return to the black. In general, the outlook for the new year slightly positive, there remain serious problems that may negatively affect reality. High fuel prices should continue to persist.

Growth in Europe in 2012 was the same as the global comparison, but growth in 2011 was on the "old continent" at the level of 9.5%.
