Insurance: MF sector is considering introducing a special tax to complement gaps in the state budget

Deputy Finance Minister Radek Urban said yesterday that the state is considering introducing a special tax on insurance sector. The reason is to be offset potential shortfalls in the state budget. Revenue from the tax would be in the order of several billion. Introduction of a tax requires a relatively long time to prepare, but Urban did not rule out that it would have been introduced in the current legislative period (until 2014). A similar tax now works as the Slovak Republic. The introduction of the tax may not be, but this possibility is mentioned negative.
