CR - Consumer inflation rose by 0.1% m / m, y unchanged
The increase in prices driven by the increase in prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages mainly due to higher prices of vegetables by 6.6%, the prices of potatoes by 11.8%. Bread prices rose by 2.5%, milk by 1.6%, 3.3%, yoghurts, soft drinks by 3.4%. Fuel prices after a significant increase in February, increased in March by 0.7%.
A reduction in the level of consumer prices, a fall in prices of recreation and culture, where prices of package holidays by 4.1%. In alcoholic drinks and tobacco, prices of spirits by 3.2%.In 'communications were lower prices of telecommunication services by 0.8%.
Prices of goods in total increased by 0.2%, while prices of services went up by 0.3%.
Year on year increase in consumer prices in March as in February by 1.7%. Price developments were in most sections of the consumer basket in both months the same or nearly the same. The slowdown in 'food and non-alcoholic beverages, especially due to the annual decline in prices of eggs by 29.3% from February's increase of 17.1%. The reason was the significant monthly increase in prices of eggs in March 2012 (by 65.3%). Easing price growth was also bread and cereals, meat, cocoa and coffee.
Decisive influence on the total amount of annual consumer price level in housing prices and the prices of food and non-alcoholic drinks. In housing net rent increased by 2.5%, 6.7% water, sewerage by 7.2%, natural gas prices by 2.1%, electricity by 3.3%, heat and hot water by 5.0 %. In food, flour prices increased the most (by 19.8%), pork (8.5%), fish (11.0%), fruit (10.5%), potatoes (51.6%) . In alcoholic drinks and tobacco prices increased by 7.4% beer.
The reduction in the price growth effect on the consumer prices in communications due to a drop in prices of telecommunication services by 4.4% and prices of mobile phones by 13.7%. The clothing and footwear prices fell by 3.7%, clothing and footwear by 3.6%. In transport, the lower fuel prices by 0.9% and passenger cars by 3.4%.
Total prices of goods and the prices of services rose by 1.6%. Overall consumer price index excluding imputed rent was up 101.6%.
Inflation rate, an increase in the average consumer price index for last 12 months and previous 12 months was 2.8% in March.
Average increase in the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) 1) 27 EU member states, according to preliminary data of Eurostat in February 2.0%, which is 0.1 percentage points less than in January.
