Sale on allowances deducted CEZ
The European Parliament rejected the Commission's proposal to postpone the auction of emission allowances. Allowances market losing over 40%, energy stocks headed down sharply
The European Parliament has surprisingly rejected the proposal of the European Commission, which was to revive the market for emission allowances. The immediate reaction of the market was a fall in the prices of emission allowances and the decline in prices of many energy companies such as EDF, E.ON and CEZ.
Emission Rights of the European Union since its price peak in April 2006 due to oversupply and concerns about the viability of the project lost most value to their lows below 3 euros, even over 80%. Prices of EU emission allowances for 2013 fell shortly after the announcement of the outcome of MEPs to vote on a new historic low 2.63 euro per tonne of carbon dioxide.
