Microsoft's 1Q results slightly above expectations
Microsoft has reported for the first three months of annual increase profits by 19% to USD 6.06 billion (72 cents per share), slightly above market estimates (68 cents). Total sales (20.5 billion USD; +18% y / y) were then in line with expectations. Weakening demand for computers running Windows compensated by savings in costs and better sales of software and servers for businesses.
The management company said that operating costs in this fiscal year ending in June will be between 30.2 to 30.5 mld.USD than previously estimated range from 30.3 to 30.9 mld.USD. In the next year then rise to 31.6 to 32.2 mld.USD.
Windows division saw revenue growth of 23% compared to 5.7 mld.USD market estimated 5.9 mld.USD.
