Total chief: Energy prices will rise


BRUSSELS (MEDIAFAX) - Director-General of the French oil company Total Christophe de Margerie expected growth in energy prices. He said in an interview for Saturday's Belgian sheet L'Echo, reported Reuters.

Energy prices may, according to CEO Total point only upwards. For future growth rates, according to him there are two factors increasing price of petrol and rising costs related to environmental protection.

"When you add up the obligations of energy producers in the area of ??safety, environmental protection and emission reduction, energy prices can only go higher," said de Margerie.

In 2009, U.S. crude oil prices ranged between 70-90 U.S. dollars (1350 to 1750 crowns) per barrel.

In the Czech Republic to the expected rise in energy prices reflected the cost of such construction and operation of solar power plants. According to the Commercial Director of the electricity company CEZ for the year in the Czech Republic to build solar power plants so that their support will come in the next 20 years, electricity consumers to 40 billion per year.
