Belgium - Greece north?

The risk that Belgium will become the "North Greece" is not great, but nervous financial markets can be severely hurt. The Belgian "footprint" goes through the KBC, respectively. And CSOB in the Czech Republic.

If "the Greek and Irish contagion" hit Belgium was shaken by the first country among the six founding European integration. Most economists still think that this threat could be met. They agree that the Belgian position weakens the long-term political instability. Even five months after the June elections were politicians, linguistically divided into Flemish and Walloons, able to establish a government majority.

"If we fail to resolve the political crisis soon, the financial crisis seems inevitable," predicts Professor Paul De Grauwe from the Catholic University of Leuven. According to De Grauwea economic fundamentals are solid, Belgium, but a blind alley, where politicians move could destroy the confidence of the markets.
