Merkel: The new rescue fund will have enough financial resources

BRUSSELS (MEDIAFAX) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday said that the new euro rescue fund will have sufficient financial resources. Informed the AFP.

"Details regarding the mechanism of crisis our follow in March. Of course, the fund must have sufficient resources in order to meet future debt shocks," said the German politician. "We will do everything so that the euro is safe," she said.

The exact amount of the fund, which will replace the current mechanism EFSF in 2013, was not yet established. Its main objective is to stabilize the euro common currency and prevent a possible spill-over concerns about debt problems in other euro area countries.

Merkel also promote further economic integration in the region. "Yesterday's debate showed that we have more common points in our economic policies, and that on this topic we discuss in the coming months, especially within the euro area," says Chancellor. "It is important to us step by step to create a common economic policy," she added.
