The private sector must be involved in the rescue of Greece, reiterated Germany

BERLIN (MEDIAFAX) - All parties involved in negotiations on a second rescue package for Greece, agree that the aid should involve the private sector, confirmed the German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble. The details of this step is still under discussion, reported Reuters on Saturday.

"In principle, all parties agree that the private sector must do its part to contribute to a new rescue package for Greece. But still negotiating on how this happens," said a German official.

"We need the voluntary participation of the private sector," said Schauble.

At Friday's meeting between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy, the former engine of European integration was able to find consensus on the involvement of the private sector to another rescue package for Athens. This should go hand in hand with the initiative of the Vienna of 2009. But the private sector must participate on a voluntary basis.
