Hotels will raise the price because of the VAT increase next year by up to 10%


PRAGUE (MEDIAFAX) - Czech hoteliers in the coming year will be more expensive services to an average of ten percent, to respond to the increase in lower rates of value added tax (VAT). On Tuesday, the President said the Association of Hotels and Restaurants Vaclav Starek.

"If there is an increase of 4.5 percent VAT for accommodation services, and hotels will not be able to absorb this increase and in any case next year will rise desetiprocentnímu," Starek said.

According to him, is now at prices so low that they are already hoteliers can not go below. "Unfortunately, so any increase in direct transfers to the customer," said Starek.

The government proposed an increase in VAT in two steps. In 2012 the reduced VAT rate will increase from ten to 14 percent.
