Slovak economy during the first quarter of this year grew by three percent


BRATISLAVA (MEDIAFAX) - Gross domestic product (GDP) of the Slovak Republic according to revised data rose for the first quarter of this year, down by three percent. On Wednesday issued revised GDP information on the Slovak Statistical Office, which reduce to previously published data by 0.1 percentage points.

In mezikvartálním compared after adjustment for seasonal effects in the first quarter of this year the Slovak economy actually grew by 0.7 percent. In the last quarter of last year, its GDP grew by 3.4 percent.

The reduction rate of the Slovak economy has caused a significant slowdown results mainly foreign trade balance. Exports of goods and services grew by 2.6 percent, by 14.2 percentage points less than in the first quarter last year. At the same time decreased the import of products and services by 1.3 percent.The growth of GDP continued to net exports.

Decline in domestic demand in the Slovak 0.7 percent decline most significantly influenced by the gross capital formation by four percent of the gross fixed capital formation by 3.9 percent. Final household consumption fell by 0.1 percent. Last year's final consumption exceeded the level of public administration (+0.4%) and consumption of non-profit institutions serving households (+0.5%).
