CZEPHO: Interest in photovoltaics is growing on the roof (June 13, 2012)

PRAGUE (MEDIAFAX) - Demand for photovoltaics on the roofs in the CR increases, only the first five months of this year received a distribution of over 10,000 applications. On Wednesday it said Czech Photovoltaic Industry Association (CZEPHO).

A new trend, according to the association sector small installations on the roofs of houses and businesses. In the CR was the end of May this year, photovoltaic power plants (PVP) issued 13 322 licenses, of which 88.4 percent are in the installation 100kWp (total of 11 777 plants), which are typically installed on roofs of houses, businesses, factories, supermarkets etc. A total of 49 percent (6,512 units) while the smallest consists of five kWp photovoltaic power plant, located on the roofs of houses.

Since the end of 2010, which ended with support for large-scale installation in the CR increased approximately 600 installations and installed capacity increased by 8.1 MWp.

"The new trend in the sector are actually small installation on the roofs of houses and businesses, but also begin to appear on the photovoltaic residential buildings. Growing share of own consumption of electricity flow through systems in pursuit of surpluses and switching appliances such as pool pumps, air conditioning, heating and pool also the gradual expansion of storage units, "Susan outlined Musilova, executive director CZEPHO.

Last year, Czech photovoltaics produced 2118 GWh, which is approximately 2.4 percent of the total gross production in the country. Own consumption of electricity production was 13.2 GWh and ranks it among the sources with the lowest power consumption during manufacturing.

In the photovoltaic sector in the Czech Republic is estimated CZEPHO currently employs around 5,000 people. Significantly increasing the number of employees in companies dealing with installations in family houses.Among the largest employers in the sector include the company Schott Solar, Fronius, Solartec, FitCraft, Kyocera Solar or Lintech.

The analysis, which he recently had CZEPHO develop, it is clear that real development potential of the PV sector in 2020 ranged from 55 to 110 MWp per year, mainly in the form of small installations on the roofs of houses and small businesses.

Other options for new installations today opened a new law on assisted energy sources, which took effect from June and canceled the unused power reserve of around 600 MWp. It spread to the further period of five years, the space for 20 000 PVP for family houses a year. As the association said in a distribution company reaction to it was announced that the annual conversion limit for the connection and the capacity will actually connect.
