U.S. - the number of new applications for aid declined in the last week of 2000, expected a larger decline


Number of new requests for support in unemployment in the U.S. last week fell by 2,000 to 387,000 applications. Allowed for greater market decline to about 383 000 applications in the range of estimates from 371 to 390 000th

Four-week moving average has increased substantially over the previous 382 750 to 386 250 applications, the highest this year.

The number of Americans receiving long-term support in
unemployment stagnated around 3.3 million. Including other benefits under other government support programs, the number fell by 42,400 to 2.64 million people.
