BMW and Toyota are planning to expand cooperation beyond green technology and diesel engines


MUNICH (MEDIAFAX) - German carmaker BMW and Japanese manufacturer Toyota is planning to conclude an agreement on mutual cooperation across a wider area of ??environmental technology and diesel engines. On Sunday, about Reuters.

German manufacturer into the first agreement with Toyota, the supply of diesel engines for Japanese cars produced in Europe since 2014, in December last year. Since then, both manufacturers mutually examine what other way they could be useful.

Both companies also agreed to cooperate in further research, Li-ion batteries for cars powered by electricity, and several other projects, which are so far unwilling BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer or president Akio Toyoda, Toyota's talk.

It also emerged last week question marks over the future relationship of BMW and the French manufacturer PSA Peugeot Citroen in the production of components for hybrid cars. Doubts raised by the prospect of further deepening the cooperation between PSA and other European competitor Opel, which is a division of U.S. General Motors.

BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke AG) is a German manufacturer of automobiles, motorcycles and engines, which is a combination of two companies, Rapp and Gustav Otto Motorenwerke Flugzeugwerke in 1916. The company headquarters is in Munich. BMW is the parent company of firms Mini and Rolls-Royce.
