CSO: Meat production in the CR in the 2nd quarter fell by 6.8 percent to 115,113 tons

PRAGUE (MEDIAFAX) - The total meat production in the 2nd Republic quarter reached 115,113 tons, representing a decrease of 6.8 percent, of which beef and veal 16,379 tons (9.1%), 59,849 tons of pork (11.1%) and 38,823 tons of poultry (+1, 9%). On Monday, informing the Czech Statistical Office (CSO).

In 2 quarter decreased numbers of cattle slaughtered annually by 9.2 percent to 56,100 units. Most fell in the category of bulls (17.0%) and calves (17.2%). Number of slaughtered pigs (678 200) decreased by 11.2 percent with the overall decline of the pig. Favorable for further development in the pig slaughtering pigs is a decrease (33.2%). Pig meat production reached 59,849 tons (11.1%). Total poultry meat production increased slightly to 38,823 tons, which was 1.9% more than in the 2nd quarter of 2011.

In 2 quarter rose Agricultural producer prices of cattle in all categories: bulls by 6.9 percent in heifers by 10.8 percent in cows by 14 percent and 0.3 percent for calves.

Dairies in the period purchased from domestic producers 625.072 million liters of milk. In the same period of the previous year increased by 7.3 percent. Agricultural producer prices dropped by 4.2 percent.
