Office confirmed the fine for Water and Sewerage Pardubice

PRAGUE (MEDIAFAX) - A fine in the amount of nine million crowns for the Water and Sewerage Authority of Pardubice confirmed for the Protection of Competition (OPC). On Wednesday, informing its chairman Peter Rafaj with the fact that the company violated the law in public procurement.

"Water and Sewage Company of Pardubice violated the law when awarding contracts for the construction of biological wastewater treatment plant in Pardubice," said Rafaj.

He pointed out that the fine nine million crowns were stored in the first instance decision in December last year, up to now, however, the Office rejected the appeal lodged its decision of first instance.

The company broke the law by the Office of Procurement, when the report on the assessment and evaluation of bids has not, how come the results of the rationale for an extremely low bid prices and job offers explanation of candidates.This procedure has its nepřezkoumatelným and non-transparent.

Water and sanitation in addition Pardubice during the administrative proceedings have concluded a contract with the successful bidder, unless the Office within the period reported. This office also took into account the fact in determining the amount of the sanction.

Office for Protection of Competition is the central administrative body of the Czech Republic with powers in the field of competition, supervision over public procurement, and monitoring and coordination of public support. The Authority is governed by the Chairman who is appointed by the president for a six-year term.
