The share of non-performing mortgage loans in the second quarter in the U.S. increased, MBA


The share of outstanding mortgages in the total volume of bank loans rose in the United States for the first time in four quarters, and probably reflects the slowdown in economic activity in the first half of persistently high unemployment. Nationwide survey Banking Association (MBA) reported that seasonally adjusted delinquency rate in the second quarter increased to 7.58% from 7.40%, the lowest level since mid-2007. The share of secured loans that were not paid at least one month and so far there is no debtors execution, remained unchanged at 0.96% and was the lowest since the end of 2007. In the same period a year ago, moved to 1.08%.

The share of secured loans in arrears for more than one month and in the process of expropriation decreased by 0.12% to 4.27% and 0.16% year on year. In the last quarter of 2010 climbed to the highest level in the history of 4.64%.

Indicator of serious delinquency, ninety days or more past due or in the process of expropriation, decreased by 13 basis points to7.31%, the lowest level since the end of 2008. In the same period a year ago, moved to 7.85%.

According to the MBA delinquency was most severe in the state of Florida (13.7%) and exceeded by more than three times the national average, followed by New Jersey (7.7%), Illinois (7.1%) and New York (6.5%) . In Arizona and California, the two states most affected by the mortgage crisis, the delinquency rate fluctuated by more than one percentage point below the national average. According to data seasonally adjusted delinquency rate increased for all types of loans other than FHA, the most at-risk subprime loans.
