Eurozone - activity in the manufacturing sector and services declined in September, but waited with moderate growth, growth in Germany


Activity Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) service and manufacturing sectors in the euro area in September, according to Markit Economics dropped to 45.9 points, which is the lowest for the last 39 months. In August PMI index reached 46.3 points. Market for September estimated a slight improvement to 46.6 points.

The decline in activity in these sectors relating to the transition of the European economy as a whole into recession caused by the protracted debt crisis, which significantly reduces consumers' buying appetite and investment activities of firms.

A separate index for the manufacturing sector grew to 46 points compared to 45.1 points in August.
Index for services fell also on 46 points from August's 47.2 points.

In Germany, which is the main economy in the euro area composite index of both sectors rose to 49.7 points, which is the highest for the last 5 months.Common index in France and declined to 44.1 points, which corresponds 41měsíčnímu minimum.
