China - car sales unexpectedly fell in September for the first time after 8 months of growth


Car sales in China in September, according to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) declined by 0.3% month on month to 1.32 million. Market estimated sales growth of 2% and reaching 1.35 million cars.

The sharp decline in interest recorded Japanese brand, which was most likely caused by the tension of political relations between the "Land of the Rising Sun" and the "middle kingdom" in the context of disputes over some islands.
Toyota and Nissan sales were the worst in the Chinese market since 2008, Honda's sales dropped its lowest since May 2011.
Toyota's sales declined by 49% to 44,100 vehicles, Nissan's sales fell by 35% to 76,066 cars and Honda's sales fell by 41% to 33,931 vehicles. Mazda's sales fell by 35%. Mitsubishi reported a drop of 63% and 43% of Suzuki.The total market share of Japanese brands in the Chinese market fell from 23% in 2011 to the current 22%.
Most nejaponských brands in the Chinese market has seen growth in sales. Audi sales rose by 20% to 35,512 vehicles.

CAAM for the second half of this year, total sales growth estimates by 15% to 8.48 million vehicles. Year-round sales should then increase by 11% to 16.09 million units.
