Eurozone - industrial production unexpectedly rose in August, expected to decrease


Industrial production in the euro area mom in August rose by 0.6% compared to a similar increase in July. Market counted on average with a decrease of 0.4%.
Compared output dropped by 2.9% in July, compared to a decline of 2.8%.

In Germany, industrial production fell by 0.4% in July, compared with growth of 1.3%. France and Italy reported a surprising increase in production by 1.5% and 1.7%. Greece recorded a growth of 2.5% in July, compared to a growth of 2.2%.

The production of capital goods in the euro area rose by 0.7% compared to growth in July by 2%. Production of durable consumer goods grew by 3.9%, production of semi-finished products remained unchanged. Production in the energy sector grew by 0.9%.
