CNB: Current account balance in August showed a loss of 26.6 billion crowns

PRAGUE (MEDIAFAX) - In August, the current account showed a passive balance of payments at the level of 26.6 billion crowns. Informed that on Tuesday, the Czech National Bank (CNB), analysts polled by Reuters had expected a deficit of CZK 12 billion.

During the period paid dividends on equity investments in the amount of 21.3 billion crowns. Of current transfers includes a surplus transfers from the Czech Republic to the EU budget of $ 1.8 billion. The capital account was in August pumped 5.3 billion crowns from the EU budget. The current account deficit in the annual aggregate in the long-term decline.

Capital inflow on the financial account of the methodology of the European Central Bank (ECB) stood at 26.5 billion crowns. Direct investment balance was positive at EUR 8.8 billion, of which net reinvested earnings amounted to 8.2 billion crowns.The net inflow of portfolio investment affect a liability bond issues abroad in the amount of 170 million euros (4.24 billion dollars). The net inflow of direct investment total (in the longer trend) was flat. The balance of portfolio investment total (in the longer trend) shows a slight increase.

Other investment recorded a surplus of 12.9 billion due to changes in short-term position of banks. The balance of transactions for CNB clients led (adjusted for valuation changes) to reduce reserves by 0.6 billion.

Czech National Bank is the central bank of the Czech Republic and the supervisor of the financial market. The main objective of the CNB is to maintain price stability. CNB also determines monetary policy, issues banknotes and coins and manages the circulation.
