Ministry of the Environment supported outdoor classrooms 19 million crowns

PRAGUE (MEDIAFAX) - The resort of Environment (MoE) has supported 278 projects natural classrooms for nearly 19 million. Outdoor spaces are transformed into open class when pupils verify knowledge of natural history in practice, Mediafax agency said on Thursday informed the Ministry Spokesperson Matthias Vitík

"The relationship to nature, pupils and students are not created in a closed room. Glad interested party schools was so great. Schools have the opportunity to change thanks to a grant outdoors in the open class, where the students theoretical knowledge of the natural history hours directly verified in practice. A big positive is that in the implementation of projects directly engage actively students themselves. Moreover, a number of projects envisaged by the arboretum will be open to the public, "said Environment Minister Tomáš Chalupa.

Projects to create small schools and natural arboreta elementary school classrooms could serve from 15 April to 15 June 2012. The maximum grant amount per project was 70 000 crowns. Each project is evaluated by two experts and assessed a five-member commission.

In the first cycle, the Commission assessed 259 projects. Overall, recommended to support 188 projects worth 12,713,451 crowns. In the second cycle of evaluation committee recommended to support 90 projects for 6,062,411 crowns.

Schools whose projects focus not only on the construction of the arboretum or outdoor classrooms, but also describe in detail what specific educational activities for children planned. Some projects such as reviving elements of meteorology, where children will watch data on barometers and wind indicators.The projects are also insect hotels, herb spiral, tactile paths, broukoviště, shelters and drinking fountains for small animals. After completion of projects, class leading journals in which they regularly write data on plant growth and interest in the life of insects or small animals.

Due to the great interest of the schools within the Ministry of the Environment announced Revolving Fund further, 11 challenge grant for the establishment or expansion of natural classrooms. To 15 August, when it was closed by the receipt of applications, challenges entered into eight projects for 528,735 crowns. The evaluation committee is recommended to all support will now be ready for signature by the Minister.
