The European automotive industry would need treatment ala the U.S., but the chances of it are minimal

The European automotive industry as a whole is struggling for 5 years with problems that culminates worst year since 1995. European producers suffer problems of high overproduction and slump prodejů.Analytici and experts agree that for its correction should be sought inspiration in the USA because its current state corresponds almost exactly the state of the American automotive industry in 2009.

U.S. administration in the years 2008-9, although supported by the U.S. manufacturer of about 80 mld.USD, but did so in exchange for a very sharp restructuring of the sector, which closed 15 factories, reduced overall production capacity by 33% and laid off around 45,000 employees . These steps were painful, although in many respects, but resulted in a state where the largest manufacturers currently generate billions in operating profits and re-recruit new workers.Experts agree that exactly the way they should also issue a European car manufacturers. The key to recovery, according to them, reduction of excess capacity. Unlike America, however, European governments a form of restructuring too would rather not support forcing automakers to preserve as many jobs. Businesses themselves also with a reduction of capacity hurry because they want to first "clear the position" in favor of competition. Experts in this regard call for a coordinated European action to reduce this negative effect to a minimum and allow "equal" approach in the sector. But experiments suggest that such a procedure in Europe will run into many problems, and that in fact it is not possible to implement due to the absence of "centralized conformity".

From the beginning of European automotive recession in 2008 to close some plants only in two cases, when the factory closed its Belgian American GM and Fiat when production ended in Sicily. Close 5 races decided to Peugeot. 2 European race closes U.S. Ford, GM closes another operation in Belgium.
Experts estimate that would need to close at least 17 European factories or cancel production capacity of 4 million vehicles per year or 18% of total capacity, so that brings about more desired effect. In Europe there are currently 96 factories producing cars. It is estimated that a full 40% of its capacity to use less than 70%.
