The government did not support the proposal to postpone the CSSD pension reform

PRAGUE (MEDIAFAX) - The application of opposition MPs from the Social Democrats to postpone pension reform for two years, at its Wednesday meeting a negative opinion of the government. Prime Minister Petr Necas (ODS) said at a press conference after the ministerial meeting.

Social Democrats want to push reform in 2015 to the introduction II. pension pillar citizens decided in the parliamentary elections in 2014. Nowadays, people pay 28 percent of their gross salary to the social insurance after the introduction of the second pillar would be able to pay continuous pillar only 25 percent, the rest would get along with their two percentage points of their salary redirected to private pension funds.

Promoters proposals argue foreign experience when others states before pension reform saved up the money that is necessary to sacrifice the transformation system.Czech Republic but in the CSSD has no savings. The original government plan that would cover these costs unification of VAT to 17.5 percent, are not too realistic.

"State budget and other public budgets and the current coalition government fiscal responsibility 'struggling with rising deficits and public property that could be used to cover the costs of continuous partial privatization of the Czech pension insurance, the country urgently needs to fund other, more urgent needs, "says the Social Democrats.

Ministry to draft stood negatively. Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs remarked that the deferral of pension reform in the same way as the introduction of suspended předdůchodů noting that pension companies already have a permit for operation from 1 January 2013. Moving the validity of the law would be delayed because the reform III. pillar.

Another argument is disadvantageous CSSD new pillar for most people. "This pillar is voluntary and it is up to each citizen, whether the logs into it," responds the Ministry.

The amendment to the law will go now, despite the negative opinion of the government, the Chamber of Deputies, where it would like to approve the Social Democrats in the first reading.
