ECB lowers forecast growth and inflation rates unchanged

ColosseumThe European Central Bank at today's meeting left interest rates unchanged at a record low of 0.75%. Commenting on President Mario Draghi said that next year we will continue to witness weak economic activity. ECB adjusted estimate changes in euro area GDP this year from -0.4% to -0.5%. In 2013 expected to decline by 0.3%. The previous forecast envisaged growth of 0.5%. In 2014, the euro area economy should experience a revival and growth of 1.2%. The central bank also lowered inflation estimates for next year from 1.9% to 1.6%. In 2014, expects price growth of 1.4%.
