In addition to the VAT increase in January, we also increase the cost of energy - electricity, gas and heat. The Energy Regulatory Office in late November announced that in 2013 will raise the price of electricity on average 2.4% and gas by 4.13%.

"It is appropriate, about the extent of inflation," justify price increases Alena Vitásková, President Office. Families will need to budget for electricity found in some cases more than a thousand crowns more, as well as in the case of gas.

Since the New Year will be more expensive too warm. Association for District Heating of the Czech Republic assumes that prices excluding the impact of VAT increases by two to seven percent. Higher growth should be at the coal-fired power plants, while less pronounced price increase is expected for gas sources and biomass.

First Electricity price increase

Households that do not use electricity for heating or hot water, the next year will pay more on average about 330 crowns. Families who are in the tariff D 25d and thus electricity use as well as water heating, will pay an average of 537 crowns more. Households that use dvoutarifní rate D45d, eg using heaters, pay an average of 1,450 crowns more.

Second Increase in the price of gas

Have won or households that use gas. If you use gas for cooking, paying an average of 94 crowns more. The January price increase may not be the last, the government is also considering whether to introduce a tax on natural gas for households that do not pay until now. Moreover, the government wants to enforce the so-called carbon tax, which should come into force from 2014. If everything passes, the price of gas to households increased by hundreds more per month.

Third Price increase in heat

Rising or heat can escape. Association for District Heating of the Czech Republic assumes that prices excluding the impact of VAT increases by two to seven percent. Higher growth should be at the coal-fired power plants, while less pronounced price increase is expected for gas sources and biomass.

The increase in prices by Association for District Heating by massive investments due to heating plants meet stricter emission limits, increased charges for air pollution or compulsory purchases of emission allowances. Heating plant for them in the next year will do to the state budget about 700 million.
