U.S. - Activity in the manufacturing sector grew in December and was up from May 2011

Activity in the manufacturing sector in the U.S. in December, according to the ISM index (similar to PMI in Europe) grew to 54 points in November, compared to 52.8 points. December result was the highest since May last year. It was mainly due to growth in new orders (the fastest growth since April). Along with relief after Republicans and Democrats agreed on moving budgetary cliff, would in the next few days could easily help the dollar. In the horizon of 1-2 months is still a big problem - the budget is not resolved, the debt ceiling and automatic cuts for two months will have to deal with again. Still as we see in the long-term risks rather against the dollar.
