UK - home prices in December fell by 0.1%


House prices in the UK in December fell by 0.1% to 162 262 GBP. Compared prices fell by 1%. Q4 house prices rose by 0.50 qoq respectively decreased by 1.1% year on year.

The fall in prices recorded 11 of the 13 monitored regions, London scored the best result with an increase of 0.7%. The worst-performing real estate in Northern Ireland, where there was an average fall of 8.2%.

According to the Nationwide Building Society, the average home price roughly 5.1 times the average annual income, which exceeds the long-term average of 4.2 times.

For 2013, there are plans to a slight decrease, which will correspond with only moderate economic recovery.
