Germany - maoobchodní sales in November rose more than expected

Retail sales in Germany in November, adjusted for seasonal influences mom grew by 1.2% compared to the October decline of 1.3%. The market expected a more modest growth at 0.8%. Comments attributed to higher revenue growth primarily relatively decent developments in unemployment, which supported the purchasing consumer activity in the traditionally strongest period before the end of the year. According to the German retail association HDE November and December sales to rise by 1.5%.

Compared November retail sales fell by 0.9%.

According to the German Statistical Office, the total retail sales for the full year 2012 decline when adjusted for inflation annually between 0.1 to 0.3%.
