The top 10 U.S. banks have agreed to settle disputes over foreclosures on bad loans

The top 10 U.S. banks, including Bank of America, Citibank, JPMorgan and Wells Fargo agreed to settle a dispute concerning the process of foreclosure properties in non-performing loans in 2009 and 2010. Banks pay a combined USD 3.3 billion directly to clients and other victims of USD 5.2 billion is the cost of refinancing and cancellation of erroneous judgments. Banks have already largely provisioned to these disputes and their completion is perceived rather positively.
