Czech Republic - December producer prices - stronger growth only for agricultural producers


Mom, agricultural producer prices rose by 0.9%. Industrial producer prices down by 0.3%, prices of construction work by 0.1% and prices of market services by 1.2%.
Year-Agricultural producer prices were higher by 15.9%, in industry by 1.2%. Lower prices were works by 0.7% and market services by 1.9%.
The average for the year 2012 compared with 2011, agricultural producer prices were higher by 4.1% and industrial producers by 2.1%. Construction work prices and market services are consistently lower by 0.6%.

Monthly changes

Agricultural producer prices rose by 0.9%. In crop production, prices increased by 1.2%, prices of cereals rose by 1.1%, oil 1.7%, fruit by 3.1%, 5.9% potatoes and vegetables by 10.0%. Prices of animal products increased by 0.6%. Egg prices rose by 1.0%, poultry by 1.1% and milk by 2.5%.Pig prices fell by 2.1% and 1.3% of cattle.

Industrial producer prices down by 0.3%. Prices of coke and refined petroleum products decreased by 3.1%, basic metals and fabricated metal products 0.4%, food products, beverages and tobacco by 0.3%. Prices went down primarily of vegetable and animal oils and fats by 3.6% while the prices of grain mill products, starches and starch by 2.4%. Higher prices of textiles, clothing and leather 0.4% and rubber, plastic and non-metallic mineral products by 0.1%, the price of concrete, plaster and cement increased by 1.1%.

Prices of construction works (estimated) decreased by 0.1%, prices of materials of construction have not changed.

Market services prices in the business spheredecreased by 1.2% mainly due to lower prices for advertising and market research services by 9.4%. The prices for real estate services by 0.7% and prices of financial services, except insurance and pension funding, up by 0.3%. Market services prices excluding advertising services decreased by 0.1%.

Year comparison:

Agricultural producer prices were higher by 15.9% (in November by 14.6%). In crop production, prices rose by 27.6%, the price of potatoes increased by 50.9%, vegetables by 49.9%, 32.9% for cereals and oilseeds by 23.7%. Fruit prices rose by 3.4%. In livestock production, prices were higher by 3.1%. Egg prices increased by 25.8% and 13.8% of pigs. Cattle prices were higher by 10.1%, poultry by 10.0%. Milk prices fell by 8.6%.

Industrial producer pricesincreased by 1.2% (in November by 1.6%). Price level significantly influenced the prices of chemicals and products by 11.3%. , Prices of food products, beverages and tobacco by 4.1%, of which the animal feeds by 19.8% and meat and meat products by 6.2%. Prices of coke and refined petroleum products increased by 2.4%. Prices of basic metals and fabricated metal products 2.2%, mining and quarrying 3.7% and transport equipment by 1.1%.
Among the main industrial groupings, the highest prices of durable consumer goods by 2.3%, prices of durable consumer goods fell by 0.7%.

Construction work prices were estimated to decrease by 0.7% (in November by 0.6%). Prices of materials and products consumed in construction increased by 0.4% (in November by 0.2%).

Market services prices in the business spherewere lower by 1.9% (in November by 1.0%). Prices fell in advertising and market research services by 13.2%, for architectural and engineering services by 2.8% and telecommunications services by 1.0%. Higher prices for financial services, except insurance and pension funding, by 3.3%. Market services prices excluding advertising services decreased by 0.4% (in November by 0.3%).

Developments in 2012

Agricultural producer prices on average for the full year 2012 compared with 2011 increased by 4.1% (in 2011, 19.1%). The prices of crop products increased by 3.4% and 5.2% animal. Prices of eggs by 55.6%, pigs by 17.0%, vegetables by 12.4%, 10.0% of cattle and cereals by 5.0%. Potato prices fell by 28.6% and milk by 5.9%.

Industrial producer prices on average in 2012 yearincreased by 2.1% (in 2011, by 5.6%). Prices of coke and refined petroleum products increased by 10.3%, chemicals and chemical products by 7.0%, food products, beverages and tobacco by 3.5%. Prices fell in mining and quarrying by 1.9% and electrical equipment by 0.7%.

Construction work prices were lower by 0.6% (in 2011, by 0.5%). Prices of materials and products consumed in construction increased by 2.8%.

In 2012, the prices of market services in the business sector decreased by 0.6% (in 2011 increased by 0.9%). Prices fell in advertising and market research services by 3.1%, as well as for architectural and engineering services by 2.6% and telecommunications services by 0.8%.Were higher prices for services in freight traffic by 0.8%, in computer programming and consulting by 1.2% and prices for financial services, except insurance and pension funding, by 2.4%. Market services prices excluding advertising services decreased by 0.2%.

Industrial producer prices in the EU - November 2012 *

In the European Union (EU27), according to data released by Eurostat, industrial producer prices in November fell month on month by 0.2% (in October rose by 0.1%). Among the countries for which data are available, the largest decreases Prices in Greece 0.9%, Lithuania, Hungary and Portugal both by 0.6%. In Poland, prices fell by 0.3% in Austria, 0.2% in Germany and the Slovak Republic by 0.1%. In the Czech Republic, prices increased by 0.1%. The largest price increases were recorded in Denmark by 0.7% and 0.6%, Belgium.

Previous year, prices in the EU27 in November increased by 1.9% (in October by 2.5%). Prices increased the most in Bulgaria by 6.4%, Cyprus 5.6%, Belgium and Romania, both by 5.3%. The Slovak prices rose by 3.8% in the Czech Republic by 1.6%, Germany 1.4%, Poland 1.2%, Austria 0.3%. The decline in prices was observed only in Sweden by 1.6%.

Czech Statistical Office prepared a revision of the standard calculation of the index of agricultural producer prices and price indices of market services.
Price indices of agricultural producers will be calculated from January 2013 to the new weighting schemes derived from the average of sales for the years 2009, 2010 and 2011. Indices will be calculated for the base average of 2010 = 100 Published indices for the years 2010, 2011 and 2012 are reviewed.
Price indices of market servicesfrom January 2013 will be calculated on the new scales, based on the structure of sales in 2011. The newly calculated indices based on the average of 2011 = 100 will be chained to the existing price based on the average of 2005 = 100, thus ensuring the continuation of the indices. The published indices will be revised.
