According to UBS analysts, Apple last month decreased production of the fifth-generation iPhone by 30%. There is speculation that they do so in response to the decline in sales pace new iPhone. Analysts Mito Securiries iPhone sales lag behind business goals. UBS analysts for 4Q12 and 1Q13 sales estimated at 25 million units. Some experts, however, point to the fact that the reduction in the volume of orders does not necessarily reflect only a general decline in demand for new equipment, but may also be the result of the efforts to optimize inventory.

Shares of the main suppliers for the iPhone drop significantly. This applies particularly to Sharp's shares, which supplies the display, AAC Technologies, which supplies microphones, also declining LG Display and Hon Hai Precision, which completes the overall facility, and Zhen Ding Technology delivering some circuits.
