The history of the minimum wage in the Czech Republic

Minimum wage is a world more than a century of history. Czech Republic is one of the first countries in Europe, where it began to be used, and since 1919, for some very low-paid profession. At the time of socialist Czechoslovakia was associated with the first tariff classes of wage scales. In 1950 and 1964 has been ratified by two fundamental ILO Conventions on minimum wages (Convention No. 26 on ways to establish minimum wages and Convention No. 99 on Minimum Wage Fixing). Both were ratified after the division of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic. Binding legal regulation of the minimum wage was introduced in our country since 1991.
