U.S. - newly started construction rose more than expected, the number of new licenses on the contrary grew less than expected

The number of newly started construction in the U.S. in December restl by 12.1% to 954,000 units in annual terms, the highest since June 2008. For the full year 2012, work began on the construction of 780,000 homes, which is also the most since 2008 and represents an annual increase of 28.1%. The growth rate was the highest since 1983. Market growth estimated for December to 890,000 units in the overall estimates range from 850 to 930 000 units.

By supporting the U.S. real estate market are record-low interest rates and rising house prices in the last few months. Positively influence the growth of general confidence of households and builders.

Number of newly issued building permits rose in December by 0.3% to 903,000 units, which was almost in line with the average estimated market moving at 905,000 permits.

At the height of the real estate boom in 2005, work began on the construction of 2.07 million new homes. In the previous 4 years, the average was at the level of 1.74 million units a year.

Newly launched construction of single-family houses in December grew by 8.1% to 616,000, which was the highest since June 2008. For vícegenračních houses, including rental housing growth reached 20.3% and 338,000 units in annual terms.
