Czech Republic - construction output in 2012 fell by 6.5%


Construction output in December 2012 dropped by 17.3%. Building authorities granted by 7.1% less building permits and their approximate value increased by 27.3%. It was started up by 5.1% yoy. Completed by 2.3% yoy.
In 2012, construction output fell by 6.5% yoy.

Construction output in December 2012 dropped by 17.3% adjusted for the number of working days was reduced by 14.1%. Building construction output dropped by 15.7% (contribution -11.7 pp). Engineering output fell by 21.8% (contribution -5.6 pp).

Average number of employees1) in enterprises with 50 or more employees in the construction industry in December 2012 year decreased by 4.1%. Their average monthly nominal wage rose by 3.7% and amounted to 36 648 CZK.

The number of building permits issued in December 2012 decreased by 7.1%, building control authorities granted 7 790th approximate value of these buildings amounted to CZK 24.8 billion compared to the same period in 2011 increased by 27.3%, and mainly due to the large construction permits for power.
