Czech Republic - Tourism in 4Q12 grew by 3.1% due to foreign tourists

Number of overnight stays in collective accommodation establishments in the 4th quarter of 2012 increased by 3.1%, of which foreign visitors by 6.3%, while the home has fallen by 1.5%. Overall, in this period came to 4.7% more guests, foreign +5.7% and domestic by 3.3%.
For the full year 2012 accommodation establishments reported by 3.5% more overnight stays and number of guests increased by 5.8%.

Number of overnight stays in collective accommodation establishments were in the 4th quarter of this year, 7.4 million, which was 3.1% more than in the same period of the previous year. Nights spent by residents fell by 1.5%, while non-residents increased by 6.3%. In all categories, the number of hotel nights increased by an average of 5.4%, pensions by 5.1%. Other collective accommodation establishments recorded a decrease of 7.7%. In the regional breakdownrecorded the highest growth of accommodation in the South Region, 12.5% ??in the Shire Highlands of 11.8%, while the highest decrease was recorded in the South Moravian region of 5.5%.

In collective accommodation establishments in the period came to a total of 2.8 million guests a year-an increase of 4.7%. Number of residents increased by 5.7% and 3.3% of residents. As regards the breakdown by category of accommodation facilities, the development of the number of arrivals was similar for overnight stay. Hotels saw increased interest by 5.3%, pensions by 4.8% and demand for other collective accommodation establishments decreased by 1.1%. Regionally added guests in all regions of the Czech Republic, in addition to the aforementioned South. The second most visited region after the Capital City of Prague visited in the fourth quarter by 12,000 (5.9%) fewer visitors than in the previous year.

Most foreign visitors (by nationality) came from Germany. In the monitored devices were accommodated 330,000, but it was by 0.4% less than last year. The second largest group were guests from Russia (173,000), with an annual increase in arrivals of 24.1%. In third place, ahead of Slovakia (94,000 arrivals, up by 10.0% more).

Spa facilities visited in the period a total of 168,000 guests, ie 1.4% more than in the same period of the previous year, mainly due to the larger interest of foreign guests. Arrived in the Czech and Moravian spa of 4.6% more than last year, while the number of residents decreased by 1.9%.

Developments in 2012

For the full year 2012 compared to the previous year by the total number of guests by 5.8% and the number of overnight staysby 3.5%. Foreign visitors came more by 6.8% and the number of overnight stays increased by 5.8%. Also domestic guests in collective accommodation establishments came more by 4.7%, and there spent 1.1% more nights. The average length of overnight shortens long, which was reflected in 2012. Domestic and foreign guests generally spent in accommodation establishments monitored consistently on average 2.9 nights.

Regionally, the highest increases in the number of guests Region (9.8%) and in the South (9.6%). The decline in interest guests accommodation was observed only in the South Moravian Region (0.7%). The total number of overnight stays highest increase was recorded in the South Bohemian Region (9.1%).In six of the fourteen counties guests annually spent less nights than in 2011, in Olomouc (5.1%), Hradec Králové (1.5%), Pardubice (0.9%), and South Moravian Region (both identically 0.5%) and Central (0.1%).
