Bulgarians protest against electricity prices

Bulgarians yesterday in several cities protested against high electricity prices and demanded nationalization of assets CEZ and EVN. People also requested disclosure agreements with energy companies (HN).

CEZ Bulgaria, it owns 67% stake in three distribution that were previously purchased for CZK 9 billion, the company also owns a plant in Varna (CZK 6 billion). The protests were mainly caused by the extension of the billing period of approximately 30 days to 40 days for the Orthodox Christmas in Bulgaria, which, together with low temperatures caused a jump in payment. We expect to return to the original billing period in Bulgaria, the situation calmed down.
